Workshop Location Map
The Mentoring Workshop wishes to express our unequivocal opposition to and strong condemnation of the anti-trans legislation signed into law by Missouri Governor Mike Parson this week. The restrictions and prohibitions enacted by Senate Bills 39 and 49 target the lives, identities, and perspectives of trans youth, and are in direct opposition to the values and principles of our organization. We affirm and celebrate the existence, perspectives, and rights of trans people and we honour and support resistance to a growing wave of anti-trans legislation and violence.
The directors of the 2023 Mentoring Workshop also wish to reinforce our commitment to the safety and wellbeing of all trans, non binary, and genderqueer participants, and we understand that many of you may be feeling trepidation as you prepare to join us. The University of Missouri campus and the city of Columbia remain inclusive and welcoming spaces. If you would like more information about services and resources (including bathrooms) on campus or in town, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
