Minorities and Philosophy

Minorities and Philosophy, MAP, is an international organization with 138 chapters across graduate programs in philosophy all over the world. MSF will match all donations, dollar-for-dollar (up to $10k), in 2022!

Diversity Reading List

The Diversity Reading List (DRL) is a thriving, volunteer-run project focused on promoting diversity in academic philosophy by making it easier for teachers to include texts written by authors from under-represented groups in classrooms and programming.

Athena in Action

Athena in Action is a mentorship program for women in graduate programs seeking to become professional philosophers.

 

PIKSI Logic Summer School

PIKSI Logic Summer school is an intensive logic summer school at Northeastern University in Boston for undergraduate students from traditionally underrepresented groups.

The Mentoring Workshop

The Mentoring Workshop for early career women* faculty in philosophy is a project of the Women in Philosophy Task Force, an umbrella group that works to coordinate initiatives and intensify efforts to advance women in philosophy. MSF will match donations, dollar-for-dollar (up to $3000) for 2022!

Philosophy in Media

Philosophy in the Media is aimed at bringing high-quality philosophy to the general public by increasing the presence of philosophy in print, audio, and video media.

National High School Ethics Bowl

The NHSEB is a national program that has over 4000 high school students thinking carefully, together, about real life moral issues.

Just Ideas

Just Ideas is a program at Columbia University dedicated to teaching in prisons.

UCSC Center for Public Philosophy

The UCSC Center for Public Philosophy aims to make philosophy relevant to the broader community both by engaging the public directly in philosophical activities and by applying insights from philosophy to urgent problems of current public concern.

 

Philosophical Excellence

The Marc Sanders Foundation awards biennial essay prizes for early-career scholars in many core areas of philosophy, administered by some of the most distinguished philosophers in the world. The Foundation, in collaboration with the APA, also funds annual graduate student prizes.

APA Graduate Student Prizes

The Marc Sanders Foundation has partnered with the Eastern Division of the APA to establish three annual APA graduate student prizes for the best papers in mind, metaphysics, epistemology or ethics.

 

Sanders Essay Prizes

The Sanders Essay Prizes are seven biennial prizes awarded to essays that excel in the fields of early modern philosophy, epistemology, metaethics, metaphysics, political philosophy, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of religion.
